The University of Iowa conducted the biggest research of its’ kind, explaining:
Women who consumed 2 or more diet drinks per day have 30% more chances of developing a cardiovascular condition.
The lead scientist, Dr. Ankur Vyas claimed that the data collected from the largest research directly linked diet drinks to metabolic syndromes. The consortium continued even after scientists shifted the data to give reasons for risk factors of cardiovascular diseases and other demographic properties.
Furthermore, women who imbibed 2 or more diet drinks per day looked younger and were more likely to smoke. Also, they had a widespread presence of higher body mass, diabetes, and high blood pressure.
Diet Drinks Sales Dropping
Diet soda is currently the largest market of aspartame. The market started to drop in an instant as a result of the findings reaching their peak.
According to Time Magazine, one of the main reasons for the sales drop is people’s expanding awareness to the artificial sweeteners’ pros and cons. It raises huge health-being concerns mainly because of the obesity epidemics occurring due to aspartame.
Industry experts state that soda beverages market dwindles under the scrutiny. Even branded diet drinks have experienced a drop in sales over the same concerns.
Moreover, the evidential drop of soda sales lowered the numbers of people’s exposure to corn syrup with high fructose. In which case, conveys a whole new variety of health risks.
